Umidi Soni Solores (2002) DAAD / TU-Berlin Electronic Studio Commission
This collaboration work was premiered at Parochial Kirche in Berlin during the Inventionen festival in 2002, and was specifically written for this space. It was originally written for three dimensional spatial environment: surround sound and three videos projected on to multiple transparent screens. The work consists of three contrasting movements that are simultaneously played without any interruption. These three movements are each based on the same main sound and visual materials that reoccur and transform through out the piece. The visual dimension continually transforms and interlocks with the multi-channel sound environment, while the surreal narrative structure is interjected by sudden empty spaces represented by ornamental figures; a technique reminiscent of early fresco arts. Each three movements are based on main sound and visual materials that reoccur and transform throughout the piece. This work was realized at Technical University of Berlin Electronic Studio and was selected as the winning work in the Multimedia Category at the 30th Bourges International Electroacoustic Music and Sonic Art Competition.Duration: 15' QuickTime Movie - video excerpt
